We are learning to:  follow instructions from a dance teacher to learn a dance routine.

Find an example of punctuation
Pause at a comma
Emphasise words followed by an exclamation mark

WALT: identify what to do in the case of a fire.

  • we communicate a plan to get out of a house that is on fire
  • Identify how to stop a fire from happening

Te Reo

Last Friday the students started their first session with Matua Rihari.

We sang a few waiatas and all the students were engaged with the singing and actions that went along with it.

Topic - Learner Disposition

WALT: describe EMPATHY, one of our dispositions and use it towards others.

I can do this when I show empathy towards my peers.

This week the year 2's explore what EMPATHY is.  We then made cards for one another by interviewing each other.  The students put a lot of effort into their cards and showed a great amount of empathy towards each other. 






WRITING YEAR 2

WALT write a recount.
SUCCESS CRITERIA I know to write about something that has already happened. 











READING YEAR 2

WALT read with expression.

We are learning to send and receive balls.

I can do this when:
I catch the ball with two hands without dropping it.
I pass the ball to someone else using a chest pass or under arm throw. 




Great work on passing the ball, I observed you passing the ball with such care and catching the ball by keeping your eyes on the ball and tracking it with your hands. 

Art

I am learning to create a piece of sun art

I can do this when I use different colours and use koru designs. 




I love your sun art, I love it because you used bright colours and drew a very visible and creative sun! 

Music

explore different musical instruments

We can do this when:
*We keep a beat with the instrument
*Use our instrument to make loud and soft sounds
